Netiquette for our Customer Examples
The CEWE Community is intended to share our joy and passion for the emotional subject of photography and our photo products. We encourage exchange and sharing of ideas. We rely on friendly, respectful and fair interaction, and ask you to observe the following netiquette:
Manners and Communication
- Be friendly and polite to one another.
- Each member has different experiences and should not be judged or criticised.
- Respect the opinions of others.
- Always make suggestions for improvement constructive.
- Be fair and open-minded.
- Avoid sarcasm and other ways of wording that could be misunderstood.
- Reviews should always be understandable and preferably explained.
Pay Attention to Readability
- Write with correct sentence structure and correct spelling and use punctuation.
- Use capital and small letters and avoid too many colour markings or formatting.
- Use emojis carefully, as they can be interpreted differently.
- Do not write your texts entirely in capital letters; this is not only hard to read, but is equivalent to shouting. The same applies to the use of certain character strings, such as !!!!!! or ?????
Salutation, User Account and Real Names
- Anonymity on the Internet often leads to drastic statements. Before commenting, consider whether you would express your comment in a personal conversation.
- To avoid misunderstandings, please address your conversation partners directly.
- If a member uses an alias or pseudonym, respect their wish for anonymity. Even if you know this member personally, do not use their real name without permission.
- Do not disclose any personal data (real name, address, email address, telephone number, etc.) about yourself or other members.
- Do not ask for personal information such as gender, age or location.
- Note that only one user account per customer is permitted. Additional accounts will be removed and may lead to complete exclusion.
Stay on Topic
- Comments should relate to topics concerning the products and content.
- Think carefully about what you want to say and keep it short.
- To avoid impulsive responses, consider waiting a night before replying to emotional comments.
- Be clear in your statements and avoid ironic remarks.
- Advertising is prohibited.
Quoting Correctly
- Mark every quote and reference the source according to copyright law.
- Only quote the relevant content, not more than necessary.
Do Not Share Posts and Images Carelessly
- Respect copyright and privacy rights – do not use photos of others without their consent.
- CEWE reserves the right to delete (image) posts that contradict general ethical and moral standards.
- By creating a post, you confirm that it does not contain any content that violates existing law.
- Unobjective, offensive, political and/or socially critical statements have no place in this forum. These will not be tolerated and will result in exclusion.
- Refrain from insults, provocations or threats. These are forbidden, will not be published and will result in exclusion.
- Extremist, racist, glorifying violence, pornographic and/or inhuman content, posts and/or submissions are prohibited, will not be published, will result in exclusion and be prosecuted by law.
- If there are any critical reports from other users, these will be investigated.
If our principles are not observed or violated, we reserve the right to delete or block individual comments as well as to completely delete user accounts. We look forward to a valuable and inspiring exchange about photography and CEWE products and services.
