(Sorry for the English, I don't speak German very well)
Hi all, after making a photo book I had the feeling some feature is missing in the Fotobuch software.
While making the book, sometimes I wanted to change a color photo into black and white. This is possible using the built-in editor, but the change is permanent. The same goes for other basic operations like Contrast and Brightness changes. After completing several pages, I wanted to revert the black and white images to color again. But this is not possible anymore as the B&W modification was permanent. Now I have to remove the picture and add it again, which is kind of a hassle if this has to be done every time and for all images I do edits on.
Better and easier would be to have the option to quickly toggle on/off the basic operations like B&W, Contrast and Brightness edits. This way, it's very easy to compare, and to revert afterwards (at any point in time, not only right after the change, with Ctrl+Z), if one doesn't like a particular edit.
My suggestion thus would be to have the option to do some of the basic edits non-destructively, making the Fotobuch software much more flexible.
The suggestion of you reminds me of the smart filters in Photoshop. There you can always change the settings on and off and even make small corrections. For example if you already added more contrast but you are still not satisfied with the result you can still go back into the settings and change them again until you have your perfect result. If this could be able in the cewe fotowelt it would be great, but I am not sure if this could be possible.
But nevertheless I will tell my collegues about your wish and maybe they will find a solution for a future softwareupdate.
@Okular: Yes, it's possible by re-adding the photo, or renaming the file in the CEWE picture folder to the one with the _1 added. But it's not very convenient, especially if you want to make a lot of small changes as Sonja noted.
@Oldnat: I agree to some extend. For the more professionals, this suggestion would not be that useful, as they already know beforehand that they want to have some pictures in black and white. But for other, less professional, users, they might change their mind along the way. So in those cases, I think the suggestion would be really useful.
@Sonja: Yes, that's exactly what I had in mind :-). Thank you for passing on the suggestion.
@Oldnat: But for other...users, they might change their mind along the way. So in those cases, I think the suggestion would be really useful.
The more the program can do, the better. And the more possible bugs :). I would suggest Sonja&Co to put this on the list (just behind the dragon) just as she did (thanks), but first do the bugwork
